FRIDAY, the 26th instant (the Prince Consort's Birth-day), having been fixed upon for laying the Foundation Stone of the New Government Buildings, his Honour the Superintendent has been pleased to direct that the PUBLIC OFFICES of the Government shall be closed on that day.

HIS Honour the Superintendent directs it to be notified that the undermentioned Gentlemen have been elected Members of the Nelson Board of Works, under the provisions of the "Nelson Improvement Amendment Act, 1858," in place of the three members who had retired from office, viz.:—

DAVID BURNS.

HIS Honour the Superintendent directs it to be notified, that the undermentioned Gentlemen have been duly elected under the provisions of the 6th clause of the "Country Roads Amendment Act, 1858" (to supply the places of the members who retired in accordance with the 3rd clause of the said Act), for carrying out the said Act in the undermentioned districts respectively:—
SUBURBAN NORTH.
Robert Pollock, William Wells, Thomas Doughty.
WAIMEA DISTRICTS.
John Wallis Barnicoat, John Kerr, Edward Baigent.
MOUTERE.
W. Guy, W. Funnell, C. Kelling.
RIWAKA.
C. Pattie, Henry Fry, Joseph Duncan.
MOTUEKA.
J. Wilkie, C. Parker, J. Chamberlain.
WAIRAU.
C. F. W. Watts, C. Canning, Cornelius Murphy;
and that, in accordance with the provisions of the 9th clause of the said Act, the Superintendent has appointed the following Gentlemen for the AWATERE District for the purpose aforesaid:—
A. Mowatt, P. M'Rae, G. F. Lovegrove, T. Maddox, and H. T. Williams.
