ELECTION OF ONE MEMBER FOR THE WAIRAU DISTRICT.
PROVINCE OF NELSON, NEW ZEALAND, TO WIT.
WHEREAS a WRIT, under the hand of his Excellency THOMAS GORE BROWNE, Esquire, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor of the Islands of New Zealand, &c., bearing date the Tenth day of April last, hath been directed to me, JOHN POYNTER, Esquire, Resident Magistrate and Principal Returning Officer for the Wairau district, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected, by the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, ONE PERSON to serve as MEMBER for the HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES for the WAIRAU DISTRICT:
Now, therefore, I, the said JOHN POYNTER, do hereby, in pursuance of the said Writ, give notice that I appoint FRIDAY, the 21st day of May instant, at the COURT HOUSE, WAIRAU, for the NOMINATION of One Person to serve as a Member in the House of Representatives for the said district; and, in the event of a Poll being demanded, I hereby further appoint MONDAY, the 24th day of May, for the POLLING to take place, and at the following places:β
Court House, Wairau;
Mr. Watt's, Wairau Valley;
Mr. Strachan's, Waitohi;
Mr. McRae's, Awatere;
Mr. Harris's, Flaxbourne;
Court House, Nelson.
The Polling to commence at Ten o'clock in the Forenoon, and close at Four o'clock in the Afternoon of the same day.

Now, therefore, I, the said JOHN POYNTER, do hereby, in pursuance of the said Writ, give notice that I appoint FRIDAY, the 21st day of May instant, at noon, at the SCHOOL HOUSE, RICHMOND, for the NOMINATION of one person to serve as Member in the House of Representatives for the said districts, and in the event of a Poll being demanded, I hereby further appoint SATURDAY, the 22nd day of May for the POLLING to take place, and at the following places:β
School-house, Suburban-north;
School-house, Suburban-south;
School-house, Richmond;
School-house, Spring Grove;
School-house, Waimea-west.
The Polling to commence at Ten o'clock in the Forenoon, and close at Four o'clock in the Afternoon of the same day.
