HIS Honour the Superintendent directs it to be notified, for general information, that he has given his ASSENT to the following Acts passed by the Provincial Council, in-titled respectively—

An Act to enable the Superintendent of the Province of Nelson to sell a certain Portion of the Public Reserves in the Motupiko Valley.

An Act to authorize the Superintendent to lease certain Lands granted for Public Purposes in the Province of Nelson.

An Act to repeal "An Ordinance for Licensing Auctioneers," and an Ordinance to amend the same, and to make other Provisions in lieu thereof.

An Act to provide for the efficient Branding and Marking of Cattle.

An Act to provide for the Abatement of the Dog Nuisance.

The Nelson Provincial Council Buildings (depicted) were constructed beginning with the laying of the foundation stone on 26 August 1859, with the first Council meeting held there on 30 April 1861.

The buildings served Nelson for over a century before being demolished on 12 September 1969.
