HIS Honour the Superintendent directs it to be notified that
STEPHEN LUNN MULLER, Esq., R.M.,
has been appointed Coroner for the Wairau District.

ELECTION OF MEMBER FOR PROVINCIAL COUNCIL FOR DISTRICT OF WAIRAU.

WHEREAS a WRIT, under the hand of JOHN PERRY ROBINSON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, hath been directed to me, JOHN POYNTER, Esquire, Returning Officer for the Province of Nelson, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected, by and from amongst the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently and in manner and form by law prescribed, ONE PERSON to serve as MEMBER of the PROVINCIAL COUNCIL for the District of Wairau, in the place of John Tinline, Esquire, who has resigned his seat:

Now therefore I, the said JOHN POYNTER, do hereby, in pursuance of the said Writ, give notice that I appoint WEDNESDAY, the Seventeenth day of February next, at Noon, at

the Police Station, Wairau, for the NOMINATION of One Person to serve as aforesaid; and in the event of a Poll being demanded, I hereby further give notice that I appoint MONDAY, the Twenty-second day of February, for the POLLING to take place at

The Police Station, Wairau;
Mr. Strachan's, Waitohi;
Mr. Harris's, Flaxbourne;
Mr. M'Rae's, Awatere;
Mr. Watts's, Wairau Valley.

The Polling to commence at Ten o'clock in the Forenoon, and close at Four o'clock in the Afternoon of the same day.
