holder of any Debenture issued under the authority of this Act shall not have any preference over any other such holder, by reason of priority of the date of such Debenture, or otherwise.

Time of Payment.—The principal sum secured by any such Debenture shall be payable on some day certain, to be named in such Debenture, not sooner than the first day of June, 1860, nor later than the first day of June, 1865.

Interest to cease after time fixed for payment of Principal.—Interest shall cease to be payable on any debenture issued under this Act on the day next after the day fixed for the payment thereof.

Debentures to be sold for best prices to be obtained for same.—The Superintendent shall cause every such debenture issued under this Act to be sold in the said province or elsewhere, by public competition or otherwise, for the best price that can be obtained for the same.
Short Title.—This Act may be cited as "The Nelson Debenture Act, 1857."

On presentation at the Superintendent's office, in the Province of Nelson, in New Zealand, on the
day of 18 , the bearer of this debenture will be entitled to receive the sum of ( ) pounds sterling.
Interest in the meantime after the rate of
per centum per annum will be payable to the bearer of this debenture on the 1st days of and

William Strachan | District—Wairau.
Boundaries—Northward, by the range of hills on the north bank of the Wairau River; Eastward, by the sold land and by the River Tua Marina to Section No. 1, the property of Puka Koatu; Southward, by the River Wairau; Westward, by the Wai-ka-ka Bush, the same being the eastward boundary of M. Mahor's Run.
Estimated extent—Five thousand acres.
Deposit paid—£15.
Joseph Ward . | District—Ngatitahi.
Boundaries—Northward, by two small streams, one running into the Acheron, the other into the Wai-otoa;
Eastward, by the westward boundary of Dr. Robertson's Run; Southward and Westward, by the River Clarence.
Estimated extent—Under ten thousand acres.
Deposit paid—£15.
Christopher Edward Dampier. | District—Hurunui.
Being a block of land situated on the confluence of the north and south branches of the Hurunui, where that river falls into the Waitohi plains.
Bounded on the East by the northern branch of that river and its first tributary stream from the north-eastward, and by a line thence bearing northward to the bush there, and thence extending westward and southward to comprise 10,000 acres along the foot of the snowy range to the south branch of the Hurunui, which forms the southern boundary of the Run and also of the province.
