Mr. GEORGE THOMPSON

to be Pound-keeper of the Wakapuaka Pound.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified for general information, that a Writ for the Election of a Member of the Provincial Council for the under-mentioned district in the Province of Nelson having been issued, in accordance with the provisions of an Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand, the Returning Officer of the said district has returned the said Writ, with a certificate to the effect that the under-mentioned gentleman has been duly elected to serve as a Member of the said Provincial Council for the said district.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the Partnership lately subsisting between the undersigned as Brewers at the Raglan Brewery was dissolved, by mutual consent, on the 1st day of January instant.

All debts due from the late firm will be paid, and all moneys due to the late firm will be received, by the undersigned, WILLIAM THOMAS LOCKE TRAVERS, by whom the business of the Brewery will in future be conducted.

As witness our hands the 14th day of January, 1857.

The Nelson Provincial Council Buildings (depicted) were constructed beginning with the laying of the foundation stone on 26 August 1859, with the first Council meeting held there on 30 April 1861.

The buildings served Nelson for over a century before being demolished on 12 September 1969.
