  1. A block of land at the head of Newton
    Bay (Waikawa), containing about 9 acres.
  2. A block of land in Queen Charlotte
    Sound, between Ruakaka Cove and Te
    Huahua, containing about 150 acres, as a
    watering-place, and for other purposes.
  3. A block of land containing about 80
    acres at Onauku, East Bay, Queen Char-
    lotte Sound—as a watering-place, and for
    other purposes.
  4. A block of land forming the hilly portion
    of the promontory between Milton Bay
    (Waitohi) and Newton Bay (Waikawa).
  5. The following Reserves in the Town of
    Cromwell or Waitohi:—

SEALED TENDERS will be received at
this Office, until Monday, the 8th day of June
next, from persons desirous of contracting to EXE-
CUTE the undermentioned WORKS, viz.:—
To erect a Dwelling House at Aorere, Massacre
Bay.
Also, a Lock-up and Constables' Rooms.
Plans and specifications of the above works may be
seen at this Office; also, at the Motueka Hotel,
Motueka; and at the Commercial Hotel, Aorere.

NOTICE is hereby given, that DECISIONS
in favour of the following Applicants for Runs
for depasturing Stock in the undermentioned Dis-
tricts respectively, have been given in accordance with
the provisions of the Waste Land Regulations of 1st
July, 1856:—

Thomas Carter, Upper Clarence River, 10,000
acres.
George Hooper, Amuri District, 20,000 acres.
William Morrison, Hurunui, 20,000 acres.
Conrad Saxton, Tarndale, 10,000 acres.
Vaughan Jones, Wairau East, 6,000 acres.
Hugh Stafford, Upper Motueka, 10,000 acres.

The above Runs to be taken in blocks defined, where
possible, by natural boundaries, which will not be
definitively settled until plans and certificates of the
acreage of the runs shall have been sent by the respec-
tive applicants. By the Regulations, every applicant
is bound "to obtain such certificate and plan" at his
own expense, and to lodge the same with the Com-
missioner within nine months from the date of the
decision in his favour, in default of which the run will
be declared by the Commissioner open to be applied
for by any other person."

Native Reserves Board,

THE Commissioners of Native Reserves no-
tify for the information of the public, that all
persons entering into contracts with any aboriginal
native, for the purchase or lease of any Native Re-
serves, are liable to the penalties stated in the follow-
ing extract from the Ordinance prohibiting the
same:—

"If any person shall, after the passing of this Ordi-
nance, purchase, or by writing or otherwise agree to
purchase, any estate or interest in land from any per-
son of the native race, or shall by writing or other-
wise agree with any such person for the purchase of
the right of cuting timber or other trees, or of the
right of mining, or of the right of pasturage, or for the
use or occupation of land:

"Every such person shall, upon conviction of any
of the offences hereinbefore mentioned, forfeit and pay
any sum not less than £5, nor more than £100, to be
recovered in a summary way."
