APPLICATIONS FOR DEPASTURAGE LICENSES, in accordance with the Land Regulations of the 1st of July, 1856, received by the Commissioner of Crown Lands during the Month of December, 1856.
Conrad S. Saxton
District—Ngaitahi.
Boundaries—Western boundary, from a lake in Tarn Dale in a south-easterly direction to a rocky point distant 3½ miles from the lake; South boundary, a line from the rocky point ¾ of a mile south of and parallel to a stream running in an easterly direction, to its first branch; Eastern boundary, a line across the Alma Heights parallel to the western boundary; North boundary, the base of the Stafford Mountains.
Estimated extent—Ten thousand acres.

John Brown
District—Queen Charlotte's Sound.
Boundaries—North by high-water mark at the entrance to Tory Channel; Southward by the summit of mountain range separating Queen Charlotte's Sound from Port Underwood; Westward by a stream called Ahuriri.
Estimated extent—Three thousand acres.
Deposit paid, £15.
Vaughan Jones
District—Wairau East.
Boundaries—Northward by a line drawn from Section 17, Waitohi Pass, to the coast line of Port Underwood, a distance of about 3 miles; Eastward by the sea-beach from the Wairau river-mouth, a distance of about 7 miles in the direction of Port Underwood; Southward by the River Wairau and by the Native Reserve; Westward by the sections surveyed by the New Zealand Company.
Estimated extent—Six thousand acres.
Deposit paid—£15.
George Ridings
District—Queen Charlotte's Sound, the island of Arapawa.
Estimated extent—Under twenty thousand acres.

J. N. Flood
District—Port Underwood.
Boundaries—East, South, and West by the sea, and on the North by a line drawn from "Run-under Point" along the summit of the range down to a bay called Opihi, in Port Underwood.
Estimated extent—Four thousand acres.

Thomas Bowdon
District—Queen Charlotte's Sound.
Boundaries—Northward by the high-water mark at the entrance to Tory Channel; Eastward by the coast of Cook's Straits to "Run-under Point;" Southward by a line drawn from the end of the Eastern boundary to the southern end of Oyster Bay; Westward by the coast-line of Tory Channel from the said point in Oyster Bay to the entrance into Cook's Straits.
Estimated extent—Six thousand acres.
Deposit paid—£15.
Augustus Hood
District—Queen Charlotte's Sound.
Boundaries—West by the ridge dividing Kaituna from Mahakepawa, and continuing along the range on the Southward down to the point at Te Mimi O Kupe; and on the North partly by the sea and partly by a line drawn from the eastern point of Mahakepawa to the Native Reserve on the north-west side of Onakiwa, and thence to the sea.
Estimated extent—Seven thousand five hundred acres.
