TENDERS will be received at this Office,
on or before the 31st day of December
next, from persons desirous of Contracting to
execute certain SURVEYS in the district of the
Hurunui.

Specifications may be seen, or copies may be
obtained, on application at the Survey Office,
Nelson, on or after the 20th day of October,
1856.

The Nelson Provincial Council Buildings (depicted) were constructed beginning with the laying of the foundation stone on 26 August 1859, with the first Council meeting held there on 30 April 1861.

The buildings served Nelson for over a century before being demolished on 12 September 1969.
