HIS Honor the Superintendent directs the
re-publication, from the New Zealand
Government Gazette of May 1, 1855, No. 9,
of the following Notification relative to the
Registration of Births, Deaths, and Marriages.

SOME misapprehension existing with regard
to the office of Registrar-General of
Births, Deaths, and Marriages for New Zea-
land, his Excellency the Officer administering
the Government directs it to be notified that,
under the authority of the Registration Or-
dinance (SESSION VIII., No. 9), his Excellency
has been pleased to appoint
JOHN B. BENNETT, Esq.,
to be Registrar-General of Births, Deaths,
and Marriages for New Zealand; such appoint-
ment to take effect from the 10th October,
1854.
All subordinate officers appointed under the
above-named Ordinance (as well as all Regis-
trars under the Marriage Act, 1854), in the
several provinces of New Zealand, are requested
to furnish Returns, and such other information
as may be required, to the Registrar-General,
and to communicate with him as the head of
the department.

to be a Deputy-Registrar of Births and Deaths
for the District of Nelson, under the Registra-
tion Ordinance (SESSION VIII., No. 9).

that E. W. STAFFORD, Esq., having resigned
the office of Superintendent of the Province of
Nelson, his Excellency, on behalf of her
Majesty the Queen, has accepted that resigna-
tion.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Store,
situated in Trafalgar Street, the pro-
perty of Messieurs Alfred Fell and Company,
has been approved, under the 34th section
of the Customs Regulation Ordinance, 4
Victoria, Session I., No. 3, for the reception
of Goods under Bond at this Port.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Locker
will attend at the Bonding Warehouses
for the delivery of Goods cleared for Home
Consumption or Exportation, as follows:β

At Messieurs A. Fell and Company\'s
Warehouse in Trafalgar-street, on Mondays,
Wednesdays, and Fridays, at 9 o\'clock, a. m. -
At Messieurs Curtis Brothers\' Ware-
house, Haven Road, on Mondays, Wednes-
days, and Fridays, at 11 o\'clock, a. m. -
At Messieurs Morrison and Sclanders\'
Warehouse, Haven Road, on Mondays,
Wednesdays, and Fridays, at 1 o\'clock, p.m. -
At Ridgway\'s Warehouse, Haven
Road, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Satur-
days, at 9 o\'clock, a. m. -
At the Queen\'s Warehouse, Custom
House, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Satur-
days at 11 o\'clock, a. m.
The attention of the Proprietors of the
respective Bonding Warehouses is called to the
following extract from the 46th clause of the
"Customs Regulation Ordinance," 4 Victoria,
Session I., No. 3.
"46. And be it enacted and ordained that
all goods so warehoused shall be stored in
such parts or divisions of the warehouse as
the Collector or other proper officer may
direct, and in such manner as that easy access
may be had to every package; and if the
occupier of the warehouse shall omit to stow
the same, he shall forfeit for every such
omission the sum of five pounds."
Whenever the proprietor of a Bonding
Warehouse is desirous of re-stowing the goods
in such warehouse, upon giving a written notice
to that effect to the Collector, an officer will
be directed to attend for such time as may be
requisite.
The above regulations do not apply to the at-
tendance of officers at the several warehouses for
the reception of goods entered to be warehoused.
