Nelson, 3rd November, 1855.

HIS Excellency the GOVERNOR has been pleased to appoint the following Officers:—

The Registrar of Marriages in the Motueka District,

The Registrar of Marriages in the Wairau District,

The Registrar of Marriages in the Amuri District,

to be Deputy-Registrars of Births and Deaths, under the Registration Ordinance (Session VIII., No. 9), for such districts respectively.

HIS Excellency the GOVERNOR has been pleased to appoint the under-mentioned gentleman to be Registrar, under the Marriage Act, 1854, for the district set opposite his name, in the room of A. C. Picard, Esq., deceased:—

ALEXANDER LE GRAND CAMPBELL, Registrar for District of Motueka.

IMPOUNDED at Richmond, a red and white Bull, unbranded; has been running in the neighbourhood of Dr. Monro's.

If not claimed within twenty-one days it will be sold to defray expenses.

The Nelson Provincial Council Buildings (depicted) were constructed beginning with the laying of the foundation stone on 26 August 1859, with the first Council meeting held there on 30 April 1861.

The buildings served Nelson for over a century before being demolished on 12 September 1969.
