I, THE undersigned, ALFRED DOBSON, of the Town of Nelson, in the Province of Nelson, Commissioner of Public Works, hereby give Notice, that I intend to apply to two or more Justices of the Peace having jurisdiction in the said Province, at a Meeting to be held on MONDAY, the 27th day of August now next, at the Court House, Nelson, for an Order for DIVERTING the UNDERMENTIONED ROADS. And I hereby give further Notice, that I have caused a Survey Plan of the Roads proposed to be diverted, and of the Roads proposed to be substituted for the same, together with a Book of Reference containing the names of the owners, occupiers, and lessees of the lands through which the new roads are intended to pass, and an estimate of the expense of the work to be deposited with the Clerk to the Magistrates, and with Mr. Fagan, of Nelson, and Mr. Boyes, of Motueka, the Constables of the district in or nearest to which the said roads are respectively situate.
1.—A certain Road, in the district of Wakapuaka, leading from Nelson to the Happy Valley, commencing at a point six chains and a half from the south-east corner of a certain road in the said district called the Black Road, and proceeding about 40 chains in nearly an east direction, thence 23 chains in nearly a north-east direction, and thence continuing 21 chains in an east direction to the point where it is entered by the road now used;
And to substitute in the place thereof a certain other Road in the said district, commencing at the same place as the road above described, and proceeding in nearly an east direction through Section No. II. to the drain called the New Zealand Company\'s Drain, thence along the south side of the said drain 28 chains, through Section No. 29 to the road now used, and thence proceeding along the road now used in nearly a north-east direction 41 chains, through Sections 30, II., and V., and two chains through Section 74 to the point where it enters the road leading to the Happy Valley.
2.—A certain Road, in the district of Motueka, leading from the Moutere Plain to the Motueka River, commencing at a point 22 chains west of the south-east corner of Section No. 241 in the said district of Motueka, and proceeding one chain in a west direction, thence in nearly a north-west direction 10 chains, thence 14 chains in nearly a south-west direction, and thence proceeding 12½ chains in a west direction, also a road branching out of the same also leading to the Motueka River to the point where it is crossed by the road hereinafter described.
And to substitute, in the place thereof, a certain other Road in the said district of Motueka, commencing from a point 22 chains from the south-east corner of the said Section numbered 241, and proceeding 13½ chains through Section numbered 241 in nearly a north-west direction to the last-mentioned road leading to the Motueka River, thence proceeding through Section numbered 250 in nearly a north-west direction for 10 chains, and continuing through the same Section in nearly a south-west direction 22 chains, until it enters the first-described road leading to the Motueka River.
