HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that
HENRY GODFREY GOURAND, Esq., of Wairau, has been appointed a Resident Magistrate.

ELECTION OF ADDITIONAL MEMBERS FOR THE PROVINCIAL COUNCIL.

PROVINCE OF NELSON, NEW ZEALAND, TO WIT.

WHEREAS WRITS, under the hand of his Honor EDWARD WILLIAM STAFFORD, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, bearing date the Eleventh day of July instant, have been directed to me, JOHN POYNTER, Esquire, Resident Magistrate and Principal Returning Officer for the Province of Nelson, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently and in manner and form prescribed by law, ADDITIONAL MEMBERS to serve in the PROVINCIAL COUNCIL, for the several districts following, viz.:—

SUBURBAN DISTRICTS, Two Members
WAIMEA EAST DISTRICT, Two Members
WAIMEA SOUTH DISTRICT, One Member
MOTUEKA DISTRICT, One Member
MASSACRE BAY DISTRICT, One Member.

Now therefore, I, the said John Poynter, do hereby, in pursuance of the said Writs, appoint the several days following, at TWELVE O'CLOCK at Noon, for the NOMINATION of Members for the said Districts; that is to say,—

For the SUBURBAN DISTRICTS, at the Turf Inn, Stoke, on MONDAY, the Thirtieth instant.
For the WAIMEA EAST DISTRICT, at Richmond, on TUESDAY, the Thirty-first instant.

For the WAIMEA SOUTH DISTRICT, at the School House, Spring Grove, on WEDNESDAY, the First August next.
For the MOTUEKA DISTRICT, in the School House, Motueka, on TUESDAY, the Thirty-first instant.
For the MASSACRE BAY DISTRICT, at Mr. Robinson's, Motupipi, on MONDAY, the Sixth August.

In the event of a POLL being demanded in any or either of the above Districts, I hereby further appoint the following times and places for the polling, as follows:—

For the SUBURBAN DISTRICTS, at the School House, Stoke, and Black Bull, Suburban North, on THURSDAY, the Ninth of August next.
For the WAIMEA EAST DISTRICT, at the School House, Richmond, on MONDAY, the Sixth of August next.
For the WAIMEA SOUTH DISTRICT, at the School House, Spring Grove, on TUESDAY, the 7th of August next.
For the MOTUEKA DISTRICT, at the School House, Motueka, on WEDNESDAY, the First August next.
For the MASSACRE BAY DISTRICT, at Mr. Robinson's, Motupipi, on TUESDAY, Seventh August next.

The polling to commence at Ten o'clock in the forenoon, and close at Four o'clock in the afternoon of the same days.
