Superintendent's Office, Nelson,
October 4, 1854.
HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it
to be notified, that the undermentioned portions of the Waste Lands of the
Crown, within the Province of Nelson, as
hereinafter described, have been RESERVED
for Sites of Towns and Villages, and for
various purposes of public utility, viz.:—
-
A block of land situate in the Wairau
district, bounded on the east by the
river Wairau, running on the eastern
side of Manuka Island; on the south-
west by the block of land, numbered
6, previously reserved at the top of
the Wairau Valley, as notified in the
Government Gazette of May 5, 1854,
No. 5; and on the west and north-
west by a line thence along the base
of the hills to Badman's Flat; con-
taining about 5,000 acres. -
A block of land situate at Cape Camp-
bell, bounded on the north, east, and
west, by the coast line; and on the
south by section No. 17, Flaxbourne
district; containing 20 acres. -
A block of land situate in the Amuri
district, bounded on the north,
north-east, and east, by the coast
line from the mouth of the river
Tutai-Patu, or Conway, to a point
six miles northward in a direct line,
and thence by a straight line due
west for one mile; on the south
by the Conway from the coast
to a point one mile inward; and
on the west by a straight line
from the last-mentioned point to a
point one mile west of the extreme
northern point of the coast line;
containing about 6,000 acres. -
A block of land situate between the
rivers Wai-au-ua and Hurunui,
bounded on the north by the Wai-
au-ua for one mile from its mouth;
on the east by the coast line; on the
south by the Hurunui from the coast
to a point one mile inward; and on
the west by a straight line from the
last-mentioned point to the western
limit of the northern boundary;
containing about 4,500 acres.

pleased to appoint
Mr. GEORGE WALKER
to be District Constable for the district of
Waimea West.

PUBLIC WORKS.
Superintendent's Office, Nelson,
October 4, 1854.
TENDERS will be received at this office,
on or before the 21st instant, from
persons desirous of contracting to execute
any of the undermentioned WORKS, viz.:—
Forming part of Hardy-street, Nelson,
between Collingwood-street and Tas-
man-street,
Forming part of Collingwood-street,
Nelson,
Forming part of Bridge-street, Nelson,
Opening a Drain, and completing por-
tions of the Road from Dartnall's
corner to Saunders's Steam-mill, Rich-
mond.
No eligible Tenders having been received
for the following works, Tenders will be
received at this Office on or before the 21st
instant, from persons desirous of contracting
to execute any of them, viz.:—
Widening the Road on Jenkins's Hill.
Forming the Road from Ellis's Bridge to
the foot of the Hill.
Forming the Road from Ellis's Bridge to
Songer's Ford.
Forming the Road from Ching's, to Row-
botham's, Suburban South.
Specifications and Forms of Tender may
be seen at this Office.
