PROCLAMATION.
By his Honor EDWARD WILLIAM STAFFORD, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand.
WHEREAS, by an Act made and enacted in the Parliament holden in the fifteenth and sixteenth years of the reign of her Majesty QUEEN VICTORIA, intituled "An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand," it is, amongst other things, enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, by proclamation in the Government Gazette, to fix such time and place within the Province for holding the first and any other Session of the Provincial Council, as he may think fit, and from time to time, in manner aforesaid, to alter and vary such times and places as he may judge advisable and most consistent with general convenience; and to prorogue such Council from time to time, whenever he shall deem it expedient so to do: NOW THEREFORE I, the Superintendent of Nelson, do hereby proclaim and appoint that the Provincial Council shall meet for the despatch of business, at Nelson, on TUESDAY, the 14th day of November next, at twelve o'clock at noon.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province, at Nelson, this fourth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-four.
