NELSON
GOVERNMENT GAZETTE,

PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY.

All Public Notifications which appear in this Gazette, with any Official Signature thereunto annexed, are to be considered as Official Communications made to those Persons to whom they may relate.

VOL. I. NELSON, TUESDAY, AUGUST 2, 1853. No. 2.

WE, MATTHEW RICHMOND and JOHN POYNTER, Commissioners duly appointed to hear and decide Claims to Land by Persons claiming Title thereto, from, through, or under the New Zealand Company, Do hereby decide, that the Persons whose names are hereunder written, and whose Claims have been referred to us by His Honor the Superintendent, are duly entitled to the Crown Grants for Land, or to the Government Scrip, the particulars whereof are set opposite their respective Names:—

David Burns... ... 247 247 Town of Nelson ... Entitled to a Crown Grant for one acre of land, being Section numbered 450 on the plan of the town of Nelson.
William Atkinson ... 248 248 Waimea West... Entitled to a Crown Grant for five acres of land, being part of Accommodation Section numbered 133 on the plan of the district of Waimea West. Crown Grant to be held subject to our direction.
George Hooper ... 250 250 Town of Nelson ... Entitled to a Crown Grant for a portion of Section numbered 419 on the plan of the town of Nelson, to be set out by us, and that the said Claimant was entitled to the legal estate therein, on the 15th day of June, 1853.
