NOTICE.—TENDERS will be received at this office, until Noon, of WEDNESDAY, the 10th day of January, 1854, for Gravelling and Repairing certain portions of the Waimea Road, between Waimea Street, and Ellis's, Suburban South.

Specifications of the same may be seen, and other particulars learned, on application at this office.

Tenders will be received for one or more portions of the work.

NOTICE.—From and after the First day of January, 1854, the undermentioned sums will be charged on account of Gun-powder stored in the Powder Magazine, viz:—

£ s. d.
For every Barrel or Keg of Gun-powder, containing not more than 25 lbs., per week . . . 0 0 3
For every Barrel or Keg, containing more than 50 lbs., and not more than 50 lbs., per week . . . 0 0 6
And for every Barrel or Keg, containing more than 50 lbs., for every additional 25 lbs., per week 0 0 3

NOTICE.—From and after the First day of January, 1854, the undermentioned sums will be charged on the Queen's Wharf and Warehouse, viz:—

The Nelson Provincial Council Buildings (depicted) were constructed beginning with the laying of the foundation stone on 26 August 1859, with the first Council meeting held there on 30 April 1861.

The buildings served Nelson for over a century before being demolished on 12 September 1969.
