PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor Arthur Penrose Seymour, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Marlborough, in the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by Clause XI. of “The Gold Fields Act, 1856,” the Governor is empowered to make Regulations for any Gold Field and to alter and revoke the same: And whereas by a warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, bearing date the fourth day of May, 1870, the said recited power within the Province of Marlborough was delegated to me, Arthur Penrose Seymour, as Superintendent of the said Province: And whereas it is expedient to make Regulations for “The Queen Charlotte Sound Gold Field” in the said Province;

Now, therefore I, Arthur Penrose Seymour, Superintendent as aforesaid, do hereby make the Regulations herein-after named for the Queen Charlotte Sound Gold Field in the said Province, that is to say:-

The Regulations now in force within the Pelorus, Wairau, and Raven’s Cliff Gold Fields in the Province of Marlborough.

And I do further appoint and declare that the said Regulations shall have full force and effect within the limits of the said Queen Charlotte Sound Gold Field from the date of this Proclamation.

Given under my hand at Wellington, this 22nd day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two, and issued under the Seal of the said Province of Marlborough, at Blenheim.
