PROCLAMATION.

By his Honor Arthur Penrose Seymour, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Marlborough, in the Colony of New Zealand.

In pursuance of the powers delegated to me under the authority of "The Diseased Cattle Act, 1861," and "The Diseased Cattle Act Amendment Act, 1865," by his Excellency the Governor in Council, on the 4th day of May, 1870, I, Arthur Penrose Seymour, the Superintendent of the Province of Marlborough, do hereby declare and proclaim that, on and after the day next after the day on which this Proclamation shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette, the several Colonies of Australia, that is to say, the Colonies of Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia, and the Colony of Tasmania, shall be deemed to be Infected Districts within the meaning of the said Acts.

Given under my hand and issued under the seal of the Province of Marlborough, at Blenheim, this Ninth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

The following application for a Pastoral Lease has been received by me, in accordance with "The Marlborough Waste Lands Act, 1867":—

Philip Roderick McRae, and John Shand, and George Frederick Lovegrove, (Executors of the late Nehemiah McRae.)

District of Clarence — Boundaries:
"Starting Point at the Otley Falls Run No 2, 40 chains south of the Dee River; thence by a line to the Shin Saddle; thence by the Caulden and Brays of Sutherland Run to the Medway Saddle; then following the boundary of Mr Chaytor’s last application, given in 2nd April, to the starting point at the Otley Falls Run." Estimated extent 8,400 acres. Deposit paid, £18.

In accordance with the provisions of the Marlborough Scab Act, 1871, Notice is hereby given that the following Regulations will have the full force of law after one month from this date, as per Clause 24 of the said Act.

Dated this 12th day of July, 1872.

Any person desirous of importing Sheep by land or sea into the Province of Marlborough, shall be required to hold a clean certificate from an Inspector in the Province or Colony whence they come, or to make a declaration in writing to an Inspector of the Province of Marlborough, that the said Sheep shall have been free from Scab for a period of three months; and the Inspector, when satisfied of their freedom from Scab, shall give a certificate in the form of Schedule B: Provided that all Sheep that have strayed over the boundary of the Province may be brought back to their run in accordance with Clause 44.

Regulation to alter Chief Inspector’s Report from three to six months:—
The time mentioned in Clause 28 for Inspector to send Return to Chairman, is hereby altered from three to six months — viz., 30th November, and 31st May.

In accordance with Clause 58 of "The Marlborough Waste Lands Act, 1867," it is hereby notified that the following mentioned Sections have been Reserved from Public Sale, under Clause 56 of the said Act.
