✨ Provincial Proclamation and Land License Forfeiture

BYMOUR, the Superintendent of the said Province of Marlborough, do hereby proclaim and declare that the above mentioned Bill having been duly laid before His Excellency the Governor, and the Governor having assented to the same, is, under the provisions of the said recited Act of the General Assembly, in full force and authority within the Province of Marlborough from the date of this Proclamation.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Marlborough, at Blenheim, this twenty-first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

WHEREAS the Rent due under a Depasturing License dated 25th March, 1867, and made out in the names of John Baker and Henry Thomas, for the Kiwi Run in the district of Pelorus Sound, containing about 2700 acres, has been in arrear since 1st January, 1870.

Now, therefore, I, JAMES BALFOUR WEMYSS, Esquire, the Commissioner of Crown Lands for the said Province, do hereby declare the said license forfeited.

Dated at the Crown Lands Office, Blenheim, this twenty-first day of April, 1871.
