PROCLAMATION.

By his Honor Arthur Penrose Seymour, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Marlborough, in the Colony of New Zealand, &c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS certain persons have been elected by the electors of the several Road Electoral Districts, under the Roads Act, 1870, to form the Road Boards of the respective Counties of Kaikoura, Awatere, Wairau, Picton and Pelorus, and whereas it is expedient that the said Boards should be convened :

Now therefore I, Arthur Penrose Seymour, the Superintendent of the said Province of Marlborough, do hereby appoint that the Road Board of each of the aforesaid Counties shall meet at noon on Thursday, the first day of December next, at the place hereinafter set forth opposite to the name of each County respectively :—

COUNTY OF KAIKOURA—The Court House, Kaikoura

COUNTY OF AWATERE—The House of Mr Templeton, Awatere

COUNTY OF WAIRAU—The School House, Renwick

COUNTY OF PICTON—The Council Chamber, Picton

COUNTY OF PELORUS—The Court House, Havelock.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Marlborough, at Blenheim, this eighteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and seventy.

HIS Honour the Superintendent directs it to be notified that at the expiration of two months from the date hereof Gold Mining Leases will be issued to the undermentioned persons :—

Messrs J. T. Robinson and others—16 acres 2 roods and 4 perches in the district of North Bank of Wairau, between Quartz Creek, Bartlett’s Creek, and Criterion Creek, being block I., south of the Lease issued to Messrs Sutherland, Pitt and Company.

Messrs Tregear and others—16 acres 2 roods and 4 perches in the district of the North Bank of Wairau, between Quartz Creek and Criterion Creek, being block I., N.W. of the lease issued to Messrs Sutherland, Pitt and Company.

HIS Honour the Superintendent directs it to be notified that a writ issued for the election of one Member of the Provincial Council of Marlborough for the district of Pelorus has been returned with an endorsement to the effect that WILLIAM DOUSLIN, Esq. has been duly elected.
