PROCLAMATION.
By his Honour Arthur Penrose Seymour, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Marlborough in the Colony of New Zealand, &c., &c., &c.
WHEREAS, by "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," the Governor is empowered to make Regulations for any Gold Field and to alter and revoke the same: and whereas by a Warrant under the hand of his Excellency the Governor, bearing date the Fourth day of May, 1870, the said recited power within the Province of Marlborough was delegated to me, Arthur Penrose Seymour, the Superintendent of the said province.
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Penrose Seymour, the Superintendent of the Province of Marlborough, do hereby revoke all regulations made in pursuance of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," now in force in the Province of Marlborough, and do hereby appoint and declare that the Gold Field Regulations now in operation in the South West Gold Fields of the Province of Nelson shall be in force within the limits of the Pelorus and Wairau Gold Fields in the said Province of Marlborough.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Marlborough, at Blenheim, this twentieth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy.

IN PURSUANCE of the provisions of Clause XXIX. of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," it is hereby notified for public information that it is the intention of his Honour the Superintendent, by virtue of the powers delegated to him in that behalf to grant to Benjamin Sutherland, Alexander Sutherland, Richard Nicholls, and Harry Pitt, a lease of an area of four hundred yards by two hundred yards on the quartz reef situated between Quartz Creek and Bartlett's Creek within the limits of the Wairau Gold Fields.

HIS HONOUR the SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that a WRIT issued for the ELECTION of ONE MEMBER of the Provincial Council for the District of Clarence has been returned with an endorsement to the effect that JAMES DAVIDSON, of Kaikoura, Freeholder, had been duly elected.
