Superintendent's Office,
Blenheim, 12th November, 1866.
IT is hereby notified that the undermentioned portions of the Waste Lands of
the Crown are reserved for the protection
of the banks of the Kohai River:—
All that block of land, being Sections
55, 56, 57, 58, 59 and 61, on the
Plan of the District of Kaikoura
Suburban, containing two hundred
and three acres, two roods, and seven
perches, more or less; also—
All that block of land, situate in the
District of Kaikoura Suburban,
bounded towards the North by a
public road one chain wide, commencing at a public road between
Sections 56 and 57 on the plan of
the said district, and continuing along
and under the left bank of the River
Kohai to the Southern boundary
of Section No. 119 on the plan of
the said district, thence by a right
line, being a continuation of the said
boundary in a Westerly direction till
it intersects a public road one chain
wide under the right bank of the
Kohai River, thence by the said road
to the North-Eastern corner of Section No. 235, thence by a right line
to the starting point.
Estimated to contain six hundred and
seventy-four acres.
