PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor William Henry Eyes,
Esquire, Superintendent of the
Province of Marlborough, in the
Colony of New Zealand, &c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS it has been notified to me by the Secretary of the Board of Education, that a vacancy has occurred in the Local Committee for the District of Havelock, by the retirement from office of Mr. R. W. Watson: Now therefore I, William Henry Eyes, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Marlborough, by the powers vested in me by the 13th clause of the "Education Act, 1865," do hereby

proclaim and appoint that a Meeting of the Ratepayers shall be held at the School House Havelock, on Saturday, the 13th instant, at 12 o'clock noon, for the purpose of electing one Member to fill the vacancy in the Local Committee.

Given under my hand, at Blenheim, this second day of October, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.
