PROCLAMATION

By His Honour William Douglas
HALL BAILLIE, Esq., Superintendent
of the Province of Marlborough, in the Colony of New
Zealand.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General
Assembly of New Zealand, entitled
"The Provincial Reserved Bills Act, 1858,"
it is provided that whenever any bill shall
have passed the Provincial Council of any
province, and shall have been reserved by
the Superintendent for the signification of
the Governor’s pleasure thereon, such bill
shall not have any force or authority within
the said province until the Superintendent
shall signify, either by speech or message to
the Provincial Council, or by proclamation
in the ‘Government Gazette’ of the said
province, that such bill has been laid before
the Governor, and that the Governor has
assented to the same:

And whereas the following Act entitled
"Provincial Auditors’ Salary Act, 1862,"
was passed by the Provincial Council of the
Province of Marlborough, but was reserved
for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure thereon:

Now, therefore, I, William Douglas Hall
Baillie, do hereby proclaim and notify that
the above-mentioned Act has been duly laid
before His Excellency the Governor, and
the Governor having assented to the same,
is, under the provisions of the said recited
Act of the General Assembly, in full force
and authority within the Province of Marlborough, from the date of this proclamation.

Given under my hand, at the Superintendent’s Office, Picton, this Fourth
day of August, One thousand eight
hundred and sixty-two.

Superintendent’s Office,
Marlborough, August 7th, 1862.

IT is notified that the under-mentioned
portions of the Waste Lands of the
Crown within the Province of Marlborough,
as hereinafter described, have been reserved
for purposes of general utility, in accordance
with the Waste Lands Regulations, 1856,
viz. :—

On the North Bank of the river Clarence
at its mouth, bounded as follows:— On the North by sections Nos. 7, 3, 8,
2, and part of section No. 34, Wood-
bank Run; on the South by the
River Clarence; on the East by the
sea; and on the West by a public
road. Estimated extent—about 500
acres.

Also, on the South bank of the river
Clarence, at its mouth; bounded as
follows:— On the North by the river
Clarence; on the East by the sea,
to the mouth of a stream separating
it from the native reserve; on the
South by the said stream to the
north-western corner of Native Reserve; thence on the West by a line
95 chains in length to the south-
western corner of Section No. 5;
thence by the boundary of said section to the South-eastern corner of
same; thence by the eastern boundary of said section produced till it
intersects the river Clarence. Estimated extent—about 1,500 acres.

TENDERS will be received, on or before SATURDAY,
the 16th instant,
for REMOVING the SNAGS from the
Omaka and Opawa Rivers, between the
Wharf, at Blenheim, and the lower end of
the reach below the junction of the Omaka
and Opawa Rivers.

HENDERSON, Blenheim.

Tenders to be addressed to the "Superintendent, care of Mr. G. Henderson, Blenheim," marked "Tenders for Removing
Snags."

Blenheim, on and after the 16th instant.
