Cattle Driving.

THE attention of the public is called to the following clause of “The Slaughter House Act, 1862”; instructions having been given to the Inspector of Police to enforce the same.

- No Cattle intended for slaughter shall be driven through or in the Town of Wellington between the hours of Nine in the morning and Six in the evening between the 31st day of March and the 1st day of September, or between the hours of Eight in the morning and Nine in the evening between the 31st day of August and 1st day of April, and every person so driving cattle intended for slaughter between the prohibited hours shall pay a penalty of one pound per head for every head of Cattle so driven.

- The Christian name, surname, and residence of the owner of every wain, waggon, dray and cart without springs shall be painted in legible characters either white on a black ground or black on a white ground of not less than one inch and a half in length and with a fair proportional breadth in some conspicuous part on the off side of every such wain, waggon, dray and cart. Every owner failing to comply with the provisions of this clause shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding 40s.

I, John ELISA SMITH, Registrar of Joint Stock Companies within the Province of Wellington, do hereby notify that I have this day registered a memorandum of association, with articles of association subscribed, establishing a company (with limited liability of the shareholders therein) entitled the “Wanganui Steam Navigation Company, Limited,” the objects of which are expressed to be, the conveyance of passengers and goods in ships or boats between such places as the Company may from time to time determine, and the doing all such other things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of those objects; and that in pursuance of the provisions of “The Joint Stock Companies Act, 1860,” I have issued a Certificate of Incorporation of the said Company, bearing date this seventh day of October 1862.
