mentioned districts into the Province of Auckland until further notice; and that in case any cattle shall be imported from the said districts contrary to this Proclamation, such cattle shall be destroyed forthwith in such manner and at such places as the Superintendent may proclaim and appoint. Provided, however, that the Superintendent of the Province may allow any cattle to be landed from vessels from the Islands of Great Britain and Ireland subject to such conditions and restrictions as he may deem expedient, and the circumstances of the case may require.

At a Meeting of the Ratepayers in the Kahauranga Road District, held at Raugiriki, on Friday the 11th Instant, the undermentioned Gentlemen were unanimously elected to fill up the vacancies in the Board of Wardens.

COMPENSATION.
The Provincial Council having appointed a Committee to receive any claims to Compensation which might have been preferred under the act of Council, Session III, No. 12, but which owing to accident, ignorance, or other cause, were not sent in, or not adjudicated upon within the prescribed time, and to report thereon in detail to the Council. All persons having such claims are requested to send them, on or before Tuesday, the 20th inst., to “the Chairman of the Compensation Committee, Council Chamber, Wellington.”
Particular attention is requested to the terms of this notice, as no claims which have been before preferred and reported upon by the late Commissioners will be received.
