THE Public are informed, that there is a FERRY for Foot Passengers, in the charge of Mr. JOHN WARD, ACROSS the WAIRAU RIVER, at the Bluff below Hannam’s Bush. The charge is one shilling each passenger.

APPLICATIONS for DEPASTURAGE LICENSES, in accordance with the Land Regulations of the 1st July, 1856, received by the Commissioner of Crown Lands to the 14th of June, 1860:--
Walter Long Wrey.
District—Wairau-valley.
Boundaries—The surplus land over and above the estimated portion of the Birch-hill run, being between 30,000 and 40,000 acres, now held by Messrs. Robinson and Renwick. The boundaries of the said surplus are between the Branch river and Mr. Morse’s run, bounded by the Wye river.
Estimated extent—under 20,000 acres.
Deposit paid—£30.
Henry Handyside.
District—Queen Charlotte’s Sound.
Boundaries—North by Gore’s Harbour and Cook’s Straits; east by Cook’s Straits; south by Queen Charlotte’s Sound and Endeavour Inlet; west by the north-east boundary of R. Blaymires’ application.
Estimated extent—Under 10,000 acres.
Deposit paid—£15.
Thomas Carter
District—Clarence.
Boundaries—All the available land immediately adjoining the northern boundary of that portion of Thomas Carter’s run on the Clarence which is in the Province of Marlborough.
Estimated extent—10,000 acres.
Deposit paid—£15.
Donald M’Cormick.
District—Queen Charlotte’s Sound.
Boundaries—On the east by the Etana native reserve, thence by the bush to Watamonga, one mile from the coast from the head-land, thence to the west side of the native reserve of Waikawa, near Picton.
Estimated extent—Under 10,000 acres.
Deposit paid—£15.
