IT is hereby notified that the Provincial Government Offices will be Closed on New Year’s day next.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honour WILLIAM ADAMS, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Marlborough.

WHEREAS, by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “The Provincial Reserved Bills Act, 1858,” it is provided, whenever any Bill shall have passed the Provincial Council of any Province, and shall have been reserved by the Superintendent for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure thereon, such bill shall not have any force or authority within the said Province until the Superintendent shall signify either by speech or message to the Provincial Council, or by Proclamation in the Government Gazette of the said Province, that such bill has been laid before the Governor and that the Governor has assented to the same: And whereas an Act intituled “Alteration of Roads Act,” and an Act intituled “Auctioneers Licensing Act,” were passed by the Provincial Council of Marlborough during the late sessions, but were respectively reserved for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure thereon: Now, therefore, I, William Adams, do hereby proclaim and notify that the above mentioned Acts having been duly laid before His Excellency the Governor and the Governor having assented to the same, are, under the provisions of the said recited Act of the General Assembly, in full force and authority within the Province of Marlborough, from the date of this proclamation.

I, the undersigned, WILLIAM ADAMS, Superintendent of the Province of Marlborough, in New Zealand, hereby give notice, that I intend to apply to three or more Justices of the Peace, having jurisdiction in the said Province of Marlborough, at a Meeting to be held at the Court House, Blenheim, on Wednesday, the 13th day of February, 1861, at Eleven o’clock in the forenoon, for an order for making the undermentioned proposed New Road: And I hereby give further notice that I will cause certified plans of the said proposed new road to be made, together with a book of reference for the same, to be deposited with the Clerk to the Magistrates, at the said Court House, and at the Office of the Superintendent of the said Province of Marlborough:

To make a new road seventy-five links wide in the Town of Beaver, otherwise
