All public Notifications which appear in this Gazette, with any Official Signature thereunto annexed, are to be considered as official communications made to those persons to whom they relate, and are to be obeyed accordingly.

PROCLAMATION.

By JOHN DAVIES ORMOND, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, in the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "Protection of certain Animals Act, 1867," it is provided that the Governor may, by Order in Council, under his hand from time to time, delegate to any Superintendent all or any of the powers vested in the Governor or the Governor in Council by the aforesaid Act, subject to such Regulations as he may think fit, and may from time to time rescind such delegation.

And whereas, by an order in Council, dated the 11th day of March, 1871, the Governor hath delegated to me, John Davies Ormond, as Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, all the powers vested in him the said Governor as Governor or as Governor in Council by the aforesaid Act, so long as I, the said John Davies Ormond, shall continue and remain Superintendent of the said Province and no longer.

Now, therefore, I, the said John Davies Ormond, Superintendent as aforesaid, by virtue of the powers vested in me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that it shall not be lawful to hunt, shoot, take, or kill, in the province aforesaid, any native game during the month of April.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, this 27th day of March, 1874.

Grouse, Quail, Partridge, Blackbirds, Linnets, Red Poles, Starlings, Hedge Sparrows, Thrushes, Goldfinches, Chaffinches, Skylarks, Rooks, and Yellow Hammers.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, this 27th day of March, 1874.
