PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor John Davies Ormond,
Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, in the Islands of New Zealand.
WHEREAS under the provisions of the “Highways Act, 1871,” passed by the Provincial Council of Hawke’s Bay, it is provided that the Superintendent may, for the purposes of the Act, from time to time, by proclamation, divide the Province or any part thereof into districts, and in like manner to alter and amend the names or boundaries of, or abolish any districts, and to create new districts; and that it is expedient to alter and amend the districts formerly known as Waipukurau District and West Waipawa District, and to create thereafter in lieu thereof, which shall thereafter be known as the Waipukurau District and the West Waipawa District.
Now, therefore, I, JOHN DAVIES ORMOND, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, in virtue of the powers vested in me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Proclamation, dated the 5th day of October, 1872, shall, so far as regards the District therein created, called the Waipukurau District, be rescinded, as from the date hereof;
hereof; also that the Proclamation, dated the 15th day of April, 1872, shall, so far as regards the District therein created, called the West Waipawa District, be rescinded, as from the date hereof. And I do further declare and proclaim that every of the several areas of land described in the Schedule to this Proclamation as the boundaries hereof, and severally laid down in each Schedule, shall form a separate Highway District, under the respective names of Waipukurau District and West Waipawa District, within the terms and meaning of the said “Highways Act, 1871.”
