All public Notifications which appear in this Gazette, with any Official Signature thereunto annexed, are to be considered as Official Communications made to those persons to whom they relate, and are to be obeyed accordingly.

PROCLAMATION.

By JOHN DAVIES ORMOND, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, in the Islands of New Zealand.

WHEREAS, by the “Education Rates Act, 1868,” it is enacted that the Superintendent shall appoint proper persons to collect the rates to be collected by virtue of the said Act; and shall in each year proclaim the day on which the said Rate shall become payable.

Now, therefore, I, the said JOHN DAVIES ORMOND, Superintendent as aforesaid, do announce that the twentieth day of October last past was the day on which the said rate was and became payable; and do hereby proclaim and announce that I have appointed

THOMAS SCULLY, ROBERT MOFFIT, AND DAVID McQUIRE

collectors of the said rate.

Dated this nineteenth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.
