Mahanga, No. 2 Henare Matua for Panra Nikohere and Maata Te Aro Douglas and Hill, and F. Sutton Disputes alleged mortgages and sales. Ask enquiry into same. Call for production of all accounts and documents referring to such alleged alienations. Require a settlement of rents, and that the lands be returned to them for their subsistence.

Mahanga, No. 2 | Irihapiti Te Ahipawai | F. Sutton and Douglas and Hill | Requires enquiry into the leases, mortgages, and sales of the complainant’s interest in this block. Calls for production of all documents and accounts relative thereto, a settlement of rents, and that her lands be restored to her.

Kankauroa | Hori Kiokio and Te Orora | F. Sutton and Douglas and Hill | Disputes alleged lease, mortgage, or sale of Te Orora’s interest in this block, of which she is a grantee. Requires enquiry into the circumstances under which these alleged alienations arose. Claims a settlement of rents. Calls for production of all accounts for payment alleged to have been made to either of them, and that the land be restored to the complainants.

Peka Peka, No. 2 | Hori Kiokio and Te Orora | F. M. Chapman, F. Sutton, and Hugh Campbell | Disputes alleged lease, mortgages, or sales of Te Orora’s interest in this block. Requires enquiry into circumstances attending any alleged alienations, and that the land be restored to the complainants.

Peka Peka, No. 1 | Henare Matua for grantees of Peka Peka No. 1 | J. G. Kinross and Hugh Campbell | Complainant disputes any alleged mortgage or sale. Request enquiry into such, and the alleged consideration paid. Call for production of all books and papers connected with the transactions, and complainants demand a settlement of rents.

Papakura | Waka Kawitini and Tamihana Te Uru | Tareha and others sellers of Papakura to Provincial Government of Hawke’s Bay | Complains that they were large owners in the Papakura Block, which was sold by Tareha and Wiremu Ngamaizi, and that complainants of the hapu received no part of the money. Ask Commissioners to enquire into the case, and to make it clear how the price of the land (£9500) was paid, and to order the Provincial Government or the sellers to pay the complainants and the rest of the hapu a fair share of the money.
