PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By JOHN DAVIES ORMOND, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay.

Under and in pursuance of the powers vested in me by the Public Reserves Act, Session II, No. 6, 1865, of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, I hereby notify for public information that all that Piece or Parcel of LAND enumerated in the Schedule hereunder mentioned will be offered for LEASE by Public Auction, under the said Act, at the Crown Lands Office, Napier, on THURSDAY, October 24, 1872, at noon.

Lots to be leased being portion of the Government Reserve in the Town of Napier, known as “Market Reserve.”

  • Lot No. 1.—41 feet frontage to Hastings-street x 135 feet to Tennyson-street. Upset Price, £102 10s.
  • Lot No. 2.—41 feet frontage to Hastings-street x 135 feet. Upset Price, £82.
  • Lot No. 3.—42 feet frontage to Hastings-street x 135 feet. Upset Price, £84.
  • Lot No. 4.—41 feet frontage to Hastings-street x 135 feet to Emerson-street. Upset Price, £102 10s.

Conditions of lease can be seen at the Superintendent’s Office.

General Conditions for Leasing four (4) Sections, the present Market Reserve.

Lease for twenty-one (21) years.

The Lessees shall erect substantial Buildings of the value of not less than Four Hundred Pounds on each section. The designs of the buildings to be submitted to the Superintendent for his approval; and no Lessee shall be entitled to require a lease to be executed to him, until such buildings so approved shall have been erected.

The Lessees shall not be allowed to carry on the business of Blacksmith, Butcher, Cooper, Farrier, Tanner, Currier, Soap-boiler, or any other offensive trade, without consent of the Superintendent.

CONDITIONS.

  1. The different lots shall be put up at an upset price, and the person who shall bid the highest sum for each Lot by way of annual rent shall be declared to be the Purchaser or Lessee thereof, for the term of twenty-one (21) years from the date of sale, subject to the terms of...
