I, JOHN DAVIES ORMOND, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, do hereby notify that the names of the Board of Wardens and Chairman elected under the provisions of the “District Highways Act, 1856,” of the South Ruataniwha District, No. 1, are as under.

CHAIRMAN—Alexander St. Clair Inglis.

WARDENS—John Harding, Henry Hamilton Bridge, Henry Benjamin Duncan, James Aitcheson, John Glenny, Alexander St. Clair Inglis.

Dated at Napier this 30th day of March, 1871.

I, JOHN DAVIES ORMOND, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, do hereby notify that the names of the Board of Wardens and Chairman elected under the provisions of the “District Highways Act, 1856,” of the Kereru and Aorangi District, are as under.

CHAIRMAN—Jasper Lionel Herrick.

WARDENS—Hector Duff, Hugh Duff, Thomas Condie, James Lyon, Frederick Nelson, Jasper Lionel Herrick.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor JOHN DAVIES ORMOND, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, in the Colony of New Zealand.

WHEREAS under the provisions of the “District Highways Act, 1856,” Session 3, No. 4, of the Province of Wellington, and now in force in the Province of Hawke’s Bay, it is provided that the Superintendent may, for the purposes of the Act, from time to time, by proclamation, divide the province, or any part thereof, into districts. And whereas it is expedient to bring certain districts in the Province of Hawke’s Bay under the operations of the said Act.

Now, therefore, I, JOHN DAVIES ORMOND, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, in virtue of the powers vested in me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that that portion of the province situate within the limits herein-after specified, shall form and constitute a District for the purpose of the “District Highways Act, 1856,” viz.:

South Ruataniwha District, No. 1.

Bounded towards the north by the Waipawa river; on the east by the Public road from Waipawa to Waipukurau; on the south by the Tuki Tuki river; and on the west by the boundary of the Province.

Given under my hand and seal of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, this 29th day of March, 1871.
