All public Notifications which appear in this Gazette, with any Official Signature thereunto annexed, are to be considered as Official Communications made to those persons to whom they relate, and are to be obeyed accordingly.

PROCLAMATION.

By JOHN DAVIES ORMOND, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, in the Islands of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by an Act of the Provincial Council of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, Session 12, No. 1, it is amongst other things enacted that the Superintendent may from time to time, by Proclamation, appoint Pounds and Poundkeepers at such places as he may think fit, and at any time to annul such appointment and make others.

Now, therefore, I, JOHN DAVIES ORMOND, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, do hereby appoint

GEORGE FAULKNER

Poundkeeper of the Public Pound, situate at Farndon, Waitangi.

Given under my hand and seal of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, this 6th day of December, 1870.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By JOHN DAVIES ORMOND, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, in the Islands of New Zealand.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in me by the “Harbour Reserves Act, 1861,” No. 3 of Session No. 3, I hereby notify for public information, that all that piece or parcel of Land enumerated in the Schedule hereunder mentioned, will be offered for Lease for a period of 21 years, by Public Auction, under the said Act, subject to the conditions hereinafter set out, at the office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, at Napier, on WEDNESDAY, the 17th March, 1871.

SCHEDULE.

HARBOUR RESERVES.

Lot No. 1.—Harbour Reserve, Gough Island, containing 28 perches, bounded towards the North and North-west by Ahuriri Harbour; towards the South-west by section No. 523 (Education Reserve), 130 links; and towards the South-east by other portion of the said Harbour Reserve.

IT IS HEREBY NOTIFIED for general information, that

Miss FLORENCE TIMMON

has been appointed Schoolmistress of the Puketapu School; appointment to take effect from January 1, 1871.
