All public Notifications which appear in this Gazette, with any Official Signature thereto annexed, are to be considered as Official Communications made to those persons to whom they relate, and are to be obeyed accordingly.

PROCLAMATION.

By JOHN DAVIES ORMOND, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, in the Islands of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Provincial Reserved Bill Act, 1858," it is provided that no Bill reserved for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure shall have any force within the Province until the Superintendent shall signify, as therein specified, that it has been laid before the Governor; and that his Excellency has assented to the same: And whereas certain Acts intituled

"The Executive Act, 1869,"
"The Cattle Trespass Amendment Act, 1869,"
"The Napier Common School Site Act, 1869,"
"The Appropriation Act, 1869, No. 2,"
"The Ratification of Loan Expenditure Act, 1869,"

were passed by the Provincial Council of Hawke’s Bay during last session, but reserved by me for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure.

Now, therefore, I, John Davies Ormond, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, do hereby proclaim and notify that the above-mentioned Acts have duly been laid before his Excellency the Governor, and, having received his assent, are, under the provisions of the Act of the General Assembly before referred to, in force within the Province of Hawke’s Bay from the date of this proclamation.

Dated this ninth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

PROCLAMATION.

By JOHN DAVIES ORMOND, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, in the Islands of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by the "Educational Rates Act, 1868," it is enacted that the Superintendent shall appoint proper persons to collect the rates to be collected by virtue of the said Act: and whereas by a proclamation under the hand of Joseph Rhodes, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent, and dated the eighth day of September, 1869, Thomas A. Pearse was appointed as the proper person to collect the said rates;

And whereas it is expedient that Thomas Scully and John Farmer should be appointed as the persons to collect the same in the place of the said Thomas A. Pearse.

Now, therefore, I, the said John Davies Ormond, Superintendent as aforesaid, do hereby annul and make void the said proclamation, dated the eighth day of September, 1869, so far as the said Thomas A. Pearse is appointed to collect the rates under the Act before recited, and do hereby proclaim and announce that I have appointed

THOMAS SCULLY and JOHN FARMER

as collectors of the said rates; and, further, I announce that the twentieth day of October last past was the day on which the said rates was and became payable.

Dated this ninth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

THOMAS SCULLY AND JOHN FARMER

have been appointed Collectors under the "Educational Rates Act, 1868."
