PROCLAMATION.

By JOSEPH WHIDBEY, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of New Ulster.

WHEREAS, information and satisfactory evidence hath been laid before the Council and Assembly of the Province aforesaid, that EDWARD GIBBON WAKEFIELD, Esquire, late member for the town of Wellington in the said Province, hath been duly elected to serve in the General Assembly of New Zealand as a member for the City of Nelson, in the Province of New Munster, this 22nd day of September, in the year of our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and fifty-three.

NOW, I, JOSEPH RHODES, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of New Ulster, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, declare the seat for the said town of Wellington to be vacant, and do hereby direct that a writ be issued for the election of a member to serve in the General Assembly for the said town.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this 24th day of September, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty-three.
