β¨ Napier Cemetery Regulations
13
The ground fee, where no right in the soil
is required, shall be ten shillings.
-
In addition to the ground fee, a charge
of ten shillings shall be made for digging
the grave and attendance upon the funeral.
No other charge will be made, or fee per-
mitted to be taken. -
In cases where the friends or relatives
of any deceased person may be unable to
pay the fees, the matter will be referred to
the managers, who, if satisfied that such is
the case, shall order the Sexton to dispense
with the fees, but may require such friends
or relatives to dig the grave under the di-
rections of the Sexton. Should it be found
impracticable for the managers as a body to
meet and decide upon any individual case
of this nature, the authority of one of their
number shall be sufficient. In the event
of all the managers being absent, the Sex-
ton shall use his own discretion and act ac-
cordingly. -
Persons purchasing the permanent
right to a burial plot shall be permitted to
enclose and beautify the same in any man-
ner they may think proper; but shall not
plant trees in the same in such a position
that, on growing up, they will spread over
or interfere with adjoining plots; and shall
be liable, on receiving notice from the Sex-
ton to that effect, to clear the same of
noxious weeds or undergrowth of any kind.
