All public Notifications which appear in this Gazette, with any Official Signature thereunto annexed, are to be considered as Official Communications made to those persons to whom they relate, and are to be obeyed accordingly.

IN PURSUANCE and in exercise of the power and authority in me vested by virtue of a warrant under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, appointing me, Donald McLean, to be the Deputy of His Excellency the Governor for the purpose of directing the Officer Commanding the Napier Militia District, to draw out for actual service the whole or any part of the men in the Militia in the said District pursuant to the \"Militia Act 1858,\" I, Donald McLean, do hereby order and direct you, George Gwavas Carlyon, Major, the Officer commanding the Militia in the Napier Militia District, with all convenient speed to draw out for actual service all the men of the Militia in the said district of the third class.
Given under my hand at Napier, this twenty-sixth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

In pursuance to an order addressed to me by His Honor Donald McLean, Esq., as Deputy of His Excellency the Governor, bearing date the 14th November, 1868, I, George Gwavas Carlyon, Major, the Officer Commanding the Napier Militia and Volunteer District, do hereby call out for Actual Service all the Militiamen of the 3rd class within the District of Napier.
PLACES AND TIMES.
The whole of the Militia of the province, including the Reserve Company, will parade for drill on SATURDAY, the 5th December, 1868, at their respective parade grounds, at 6 p.m., and thereafter at least once a week on such days as may be appointed by the Officers Commanding Companies until further orders.
The men of No. 8 Company, in the Country Districts, will parade with the Company nearest their residence, and the Officers Commanding are requested to enroll them with their own men.
N.B.βThe above order does not apply to the Militia Companies in the town of Napier, who will parade as already ordered.
