All public Notifications which appear in this Gazette, with any Official Signature thereunto annexed, are to be considered as Official Communications made to those persons to whom they relate, and are to be obeyed accordingly.

VOL. IX. MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 1868. No. 29.

IN PURSUANCE and in exercise of the power and authority in me vested by virtue of a warrant under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of New Zealand, appointing me, Donald McLean, to be the Deputy of His Excellency the Governor for the purpose of directing the Officer Commanding the Napier Militia District, to draw out for actual service the whole or any part of the men of the Militia in the said district pursuant to the "Militia Act 1858," I, Donald McLean, do hereby order and direct you, Edward Withers, Captain, the Officer commanding the Militia in the Napier Militia District, with all convenient speed to draw out for actual service all such portion of the men of the Militia in the said district of the third class as is hereinafter mentioned, viz:—The men belonging to No. 8, or the Reserve Company, in Napier, Puketapu, Meanee, Petane, Clive, and Havelock.

Given under my hand at Napier, this fourteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

In pursuance to an order addressed to me by His Honor Donald McLean, Esq., as Deputy of His Excellency the Governor, bearing date the 14th November, 1868, I, Edward Withers, Captain, the Officer Commanding the Napier Militia and Volunteer District, do hereby call out for Actual Service all such portion of the Militiamen of the 3rd class within the District of Napier, as is hereinafter mentioned.

The men belonging to No. 8, or the Reserve Company, in Napier, Puketapu, Meanee, Petane, Clive, and Havelock, on Thursday, the 19th instant, at 11 a.m.
