HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT hereby directs that, consequent on the late calamitous news from Poverty Bay, the Public Offices shall be CLOSED THIS DAY, as a tribute of respect to the memory of the dead.
His Honor suggests that business premises generally should also be closed.
As a mark of respect to the memory of the dead at Poverty Bay, the Banks will be CLOSED THIS DAY.
