I hereby certify that I have examined the accounts of the Provincial Treasurer of the Province of Hawke\'s Bay, for the quarter ending 30th June, 1868, and have compared them with the vouchers, and find the computations correct; that the Revenues and Receipts brought in charge and required by law to be paid into the Provincial Account, were so paid; that all issues of public money have been made on warrants of the Superintendent, duly certified by me; that all moneys issued in Provincial Audit Act, 1866; that the Expenditure shown in the said accounts has been properly classified, and that any part thereof which may have been incurred without authority of law is separately shown.

PROCLAMATION.

By DONALD MCLEAN, Esquire, Superintendent of the province of Hawke\'s Bay, in the colony of New Zealand.

I, DONALD MCLEAN, Superintendent as aforesaid, by virtue of all powers in this behalf in anywise enabling me as Deputy of His Excellency the Governor of the colony of New Zealand, do hereby call out for the purpose of training—

1st. All the men of the first and second class of the Napier Regiment of Militia, known as Nos. 1 and 2, Napier Town.

2nd. All the men known as the Napier Volunteers, Capt. Buchanan\'s Company.

3rd. All the men of the first and second class of the Napier Regiment of Militia, known as Company No. 4, Napier Country District.

4th. All the men of the first and second class of the Napier Regiment of Militia, known as Company No. 3, Clive and Havelock; also, all the men of the first and second class of Companies Nos. 5, 6, 7, 10 and 11.

And I hereby authorise and request Lieutenant-Colonel George Stoddart Whitmore, the Officer commanding Militia and Volunteers in Hawke\'s Bay, to carry into effect this direction.

By virtue and in exercise of all powers and authorities vested in me, I, GEORGE STODDART WHITMORE, Lieut.-Colonel, the Officer Commanding the Napier Militia and Volunteer District, do hereby fix and appoint the times and places hereunder written to be the times and places of assembling for the Inspection of Arms and Exercise of such men of the first and second class of the Napier Regiment of Militia as are resident within the districts assigned to Companies Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 11:—

Nos. 1 and 2 Companies Napier Militia, front of Militia Office, at 8 o\'clock a.m., Tuesday, 1st September, 1868.

No. 3 Company Napier Militia, Right Subdivision, Clive, at 12 o\'clock noon, Tuesday, 1st September; Left Sub-division, Havelock, at 3 o\'clock p.m., Tuesday, 1st September, 1868.

No. 4 Company Napier Militia, Meanee Bridge, at 12 o\'clock noon, Wednesday, 2nd September, 1868.

No. 5 Company Napier Militia, Right Subdivision, at the usual Parade Ground, at 12 o\'clock noon, Monday, 7th September, 1868; the Hampden Sub-division, at Hampden, at 12 o\'clock noon, Tuesday, 8th September, 1868.

No. 6 Company Napier Militia, Right Subdivision, at the usual Parade Ground, Waipawa, at 11 o\'clock a.m., Wednesday, 9th September, 1868; the Te Aute section, in front of Ellingham\'s Hotel, at 3 o\'clock p.m., Wednesday, 9th September, 1868; the Patangata section, at the usual Parade Ground, at 2 o\'clock p.m., Thursday, 10th September, 1868.

No. 7 Company Napier Militia, Right Subdivision, the Tavistock Hotel; Waipawa, at 12 o\'clock noon, Monday, 7th September, 1868; Left Sub-division, at the usual Parade Ground, Rutaniewha, at 12 o\'clock noon, Tuesday, 8th September, 1868.

No. 10 Company Napier Militia, Right Subdivision, Porangahau, at 12 o\'clock noon, Tuesday, 8th September, 1868; Left Sub-division, Wallingford, at 2 o\'clock p.m., Wednesday, 9th September, 1868.

No. 11 Company Napier Militia, Right Subdivision, Puketapu, at 2 o\'clock p.m., Wednesday, 2nd September, 1868; 3rd section, at Rissington, at 4 o\'clock p.m., Wednesday, 2nd September, 1868; 4th section, at Petane, at 2 o\'clock p.m., Thursday, 3rd September, 1868.

The different Corps of Volunteers in this district will parade as usual,

Particular attention is called to No. 3 Section of the \"Militia Acts Amendment Act, 1862,\" viz.:—

Penalty for not attending for Training & Exercise

No. III.—Every Militiaman liable to attend at any meeting of the Militia for training and exercise who shall fail to attend at the time and place appointed, or shall leave before being dismissed, shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding five pounds, to be recovered in like manner as penalties under the Eleventh Section of the \"Militia Act Amendment Act, 1860.\"
