PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor JOSEPH RHODES, Esq.,
Deputy - Superintendent of the
Province of Hawke's Bay, in the
Islands of New Zealand.
WHEREAS, by an Act of the General
Assembly of New Zealand, inti-
tuled "The Provincial Reserve Bills Act
1858," it is provided that no Bill reserved for
the signification of the Governor's pleasure
shall have any force within the Province
until the Superintendent shall signify, as
therein specified, that it has been laid be-
fore the Governor, and that His Excellency
has assented to the same; and whereas cer-
tain Acts intituled
"The Volunteer and Militia Remission
Certificate Act 1868,"
"The Appropriation Act 1868,"
"The Hawke's Bay Loan Appropriation
Act Amendment Act 1868,"
"The Educational Rates Act 1868,"
"The Credit Act 1868,"
were passed by the Provincial Council of
Hawke's Bay during the last session, but
reserved by me for the signification of the
Governor's pleasure; now, therefore, I,
JOSEPH RHODES, do hereby proclaim and
notify that the abovementioned Acts have
been duly laid before His Excellency the
Governor, and, having received his assent,
are under the provisions of the Act of the
General Assembly referred to, in
force within the Province of Hawke's Bay
from the date of this Proclamation.

Superintendent of the Province of
Hawke's Bay, in the Islands of
New Zealand.
WHEREAS the "Loan Act Amend-
ment Act 1868" provides that cer-
tain sums shall be expended as therein
specified, and whereas the sum of Β£2000
was appropriated for the purpose of Immi-
gration, on the understanding that assisted
passages should only be granted on the re-
commendation of a Board of Trustees, to
be appointed for that purpose; now, there-
fore, I, DONALD McLEAN, Superintendent as
aforesaid, do hereby appoint the following
gentlemen as Trustees for Immigration pur-
poses under the said Act.
