IT is hereby notified for general information that "The Cattle Trespass Act, 1867," comes into operation on the 21st November, 1867, as provided by clause 18 of the said Act.

IT IS HEREBY NOTIFIED for the information of the Teachers in the several Provincial Government Schools, that the vacations will be as follows:—
Summer vacation to be from 23rd December to the 12th January; winter vacation from the 1st to the 14th of June.

PROCLAMATION.
By Donald M’Lean, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, in the Island of New Zealand.
WHEREAS by an Act of the Provincial Council of Hawke’s Bay, Session 12, No. 1, it is amongst other things enacted that the Superintendent may, from time to time, by proclamation, appoint public Pounds and Poundkeepers, at such places as he may think fit.
Now, therefore, I, Donald M’Lean, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, do hereby appoint that the places named at the foot of this proclamation shall be public Pounds; and I do further appoint the persons hereinafter named as Poundkeepers for the respective public Pounds set opposite their names:—
Neil Campbell ... Kaikora
J. J. Kelly ... Patangata
Miles Hudson ... Wallingford
T. Reynolds ... Havelock
R. D. Money ... Meanee
G. E. Carlyon ... Rua Taniwha
J. Sim ... Mohaka
E. H. Limbrick ... Hampden
E. Collins ... Waipawa
J. Allanach ... Aorangi
F. E. Hamlin ... Clive
A. Tuxford ... Petane
R. Wilkin ... Pekapeka
Members of Police Force Town of Napier and I declare that this proclamation shall take effect from the 21st day of November, 1867.
