£1,000 REWARD.

AVAILABLE GOLD FIELD.

Napier, 15th May, 1867.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Provincial Government of Hawke’s Bay, will award a Sum or Sums of Money, not exceeding in the whole the amount of One Thousand Pounds Sterling, payable to any one person, or distributable rateably amongst any number of persons, who shall discover and make known to the Government the existence of an available Gold Field within the Province of Hawke’s Bay.

All claims for the payment of this Reward, or any portion of it, are to be sent in to the Government, addressed to the Superintendent in the first instance, by whom they will be afterwards referred to the decision of a Commission consisting of three persons, to be named by the Superintendent.

By “available Gold Field” is meant a district within which Gold shall be judged by the Commissioners to exist capable of affording employment to a body of not less than six hundred (600) diggers at a remunerate rate of wages.

IT IS HEREBY NOTIFIED for general information that Mr. Edmond Lamplough has been appointed Ferryman for the Waihua.

Hawke’s Bay Naval & Military Settlers’ Act, 1861.

NOTICE is hereby given to the undermentioned Claimants under the above Act, that the term of five years for which their Land Orders were granted, having expired, Crown Grants for the land selected by virtue of them will be prepared on receipt at this office of a declaration by such claimants, and taken before a Magistrate, to the effect that he is “the person in respect of whom the Land Order was granted; that he is now resident within the Province of Hawke’s Bay, and has resided therein not less altogether than forty-eight calendar months out of the said five years.”

In all cases where the original claimant may be dead, it will be necessary for those interested to attend personally, without delay, at this office, and to produce such proof as may be necessary to secure to them the title to the land.
