All public Notifications which appear in this Gazette, with any Official Signature thereunto annexed, are to be considered as Official Communications made to those persons to whom they relate, and are to be obeyed accordingly.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor DONALD M’LEAN, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, in the Islands of New Zealand.

WHEREAS, by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, Session 4 No. 16, intituled “The Superintendent’s Deputy Act of 1856,” the Superintendent of any Province is empowered by Proclamation in the Provincial Government Gazette to appoint such registered Elector of the Province as he may think fit to be his Deputy, and as such to perform and exercise all the acts and powers (except such powers as are conferred by the Constitution Act) which may be exercised and performed by such Superintendent, or such of them only as shall be specified in such Proclamation.

Now, therefore, I, DONALD M’LEAN, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, Do hereby, in virtue of the power conferred on me by the aforesaid Act, Proclaim that I have this day appointed

JOSEPH RHODES, Esquire, J.P.,

to be Deputy Superintendent of this Province, under the provisions of the above recited Act.
