Notes:

  1. During the year the sum of £563 4s. 5d. was received from the Commissariat Department towards the expense of Troops at Waipawa, so that in reality there is no over expenditure on this account.

  2. The Council, by Resolution of 22nd January, 1864, agreed to indemnify the Superintendent in respect of an expenditure not to exceed £1000 for placing the Steam Dredge in a state of repair, by which amount, therefore, the unauthorised expenditure for Harbour Purposes would be reduced.

  3. The sum of £24 10s. has been refunded by Members of the Colonial Defence Force against this amount.
