I HEREBY certify that the foregoing is a correct statement of the Receipts and Expenditure of the Province of Hawke’s Bay for the period from the 1st July to the 30th September, 1864, and that the following are the amounts of unauthorised and over expenditure during that term:—

NOTE.—During the three months the sum of £359 6s. 9d. was received from the Commissariat Department as their quota towards the maintenance of the Troops at Waipawa, so that in effect there is no over-expenditure for this purpose during the quarter.

Also, of the amount of advances to Native Land Purchase Commissioner, the sum of £241 has subsequently been refunded by Mr. J. Johnston.
