THE following extract from the New Zealand Gazette No. 18 of May, 31st 1865, is republished for general information.

It is hereby notified that the Native Title has been extinguished over the Blocks of Land whereof the Boundaries are mentioned or described in the Schedule hereunto annexed.

SCHEDULE.

PROVINCE OF HAWKE’S BAY.

MAHIA BLOCK.—16,000 Acres.

Boundaries:

Commencing at Oraka, thence it runs to Pareihe, thence to Mangaroa, thence to Puna-wehiwehi, to Otamoana, to Kaitangi Karoro, to Hautaroa, Mangaowhan, Tikopu, Pakake-at-Makere, Wakakaumu, A Hika Tupuni Wairenganui, Pukewhatu, Maunga-aea, and the sea; thence on the Ahimanawa and to Taramahiti te Moemotu, te Ika, a-Tama-te-Hoe-te Wakatahoe te Kereru Maota, Mokotoi te Mahia, te Waha o Tounga, te Upoko o Tataramoa, Papa-wha-Kaanga, Taki taki te Pakipaki, and thence to Oraka, the commencement of the boundaries.

A piece is to be reserved for the Natives at Kinikini under the hill called Taupiri, as a fishing residence, as more particularly shown on the Plan annexed to the Deed of Sale.

NUHAKA BLOCK.—10,000 Acres.

Boundaries:

Commencing at the mouth of the Nuhaka River, and follows the course of that river to lat. 39° South, being the Northern Boundary of the Province of Hawke’s Bay; thence following that meridian in an easterly direction to a line starting from Tamata o rika to Tamata-kaingakaka, thence to Teikatieri, Tamata o te Tahinga, Ngawhakatakariri, Pukateanui Tama-hini a Tutaorau, Parihikanui; here it descends to the coast, and follows the coast to Waikokopu te Huki Takararoa, te Iho-o-te-rataan, Teurnti-te-awa-a-tamatea, Waitaniwha, Wamjma Hou hou o tth te Araputa Waitio Whataroa, and the mouth of the Nuhaka, the commencement of the boundary.

LOWER WAIROA BLOCK.—3570 Acres.

Boundaries:

Commencing at the Waiotureia, and goes thence to Papa o te Uetaha m Whanga a te Ruruku, Heru heru te Wai o te Manu i te ka, te Kaonga; here it descends into the Wairoa, and follows the Wairoa upwards to the Whakahu; here it leaves the Wairoa, and ascending the Rauhirihiri Creek it goes on to the Ahimanawha; descending thence into the Hounui Creek, it follows the Hounui Creek to the beach to Whakamahu, thence along the beach to Rangihoua, and from Rangihoua to the mouth of the Wairoa at te Ari o Tapune; thence it follows the Wairoa to te Waiotureia, the commencement of the boundary.

UPPER WAIROA BLOCK.—1000 Acres.

Boundaries:

Commencing at the Waiotureia, the boundary of the land ceded to the Queen, thence it follows the Wairoa River upwards to the fence of Pero, W. Lockwood; here leaving the Wairoa, it goes inland to te Noti a Kapau; thence by the Ara Totaki to Rakautihia, and to the Wai o te Manu i te Ra, which is its junction with the boundary of the land sold to the Government by Paoro, Hipora, and Pitiera.

WAIHUA BLOCK.—21,000 Acres.

Boundaries:

Commencing on the coast at Mangapukatea, thence proceeds inland ascending to Waiorangi, thence to Taumaro o te Pakipaki, thence to Hinepaka, thence to Waha o te Rangi, thence to the Whakaruarumart, thence to Puketoi, thence to Wharekai, thence to Kaihunahuna, thence to the Hinu, thence along the path till it reaches Kai Matariki, and from Kai Matariki to Haraungamea, thence to Wairama; here it descends into the source of Waihua, and follows the course of Waihua to the coast, and then proceeds along the coast to Mangapukatea, the commencement of the boundary.

John McDonald, to be Postmaster at Petane, from 1st April, 1866.

In the Supreme Court of New Zealand.

MIDDLE DISTRICT.

In the matter of James Topping, a Debtor, and the Debtors’ and Creditors’ Act, 1862.

NOTICE is hereby given that by an order of this Court, made the 31st day of January, 1865, it was ordered that a Meeting of Creditors be held at the office of Mr. J. N. Wilson, on the 1st day of March next, at noon, and that Mr. John Alexander Smith be appointed the Trustee of all the Estate and Effects of the said debtor. That at such Meeting the Creditors do recommend how the affairs of the said debtor be wound up. That the property of the said debtor be conveyed to the said Trustee, and that protection be granted to the said debtor on signing the Deed of Conveyance and Assignment before mentioned until the 31st day of July, 1865, when the said debtor is to come before this Court for a re-hearing.

Take Notice, that in pursuance of the said order, a Meeting will take place at the office of the undersigned, on the 1st day of March next, at noon.
